Geological profile of the work area has two clearly different structural levels: the base plate represented by the pre-Middle Cambrian folded-metamorphic rock, and the platform mantle composed of poly-facial terrigenous sedimentary complexes of Paleozoic and Mesozoic-Cainozoic age, with 12-13 km of cumulative thickness.
